Historical costume making classes in Leeds City Centre
As a Historical Costume Maker, Dawn Wood has over 25 years experience. Making clothing for museums and film, for both men and women of many centuries with her company Ages Of Elegance.
This year we are continuing our costume summer school and running weekday classes in a number of subjects
These classes aren’t for beginners and knowledge of basic sewing and pattern cutting is required.
The classes will show you how to cut the pattern and make by hand using the correct period techniques, as well as how to fit a garment of the chosen period.
We will also discuss the correct fabrics and colours used at the time, underpinnings required etc, and how to adapt for stage and film costume
All the classes provide fabric for toiles + boning and interlinings where needed. You will need to bring the top fabrics along
All classes run at our Fabrication2 venue
