Pottery Painting Sessions in Leeds city centre

Sat 7th Sept 1.30 - 4pm Sat 19th Oct 1.30 - 4pm Sat 2nd Nov 1.30 - 4pm Sat 14th Dec 1.30 - 4pm Come to the craftiest place in Leeds for our brand new pottery painting sessions. Paint your choice of mug, plate, bowl, or tile with a design of your choosing using underglazes while you sit and chat with friends and family! At £30 per person with no hidden costs or fees, drinks and refreshments provided, this is the perfect opportunity to socialize and craft in Leeds City Centre. Paint your pottery, leave it a week or two, and when you get a text or email notification that your pot has been glazed and fired, come and collect it from the Fabrication reserve shelf at any point during opening hours! Our Autumnal pottery painting sessions will be running once a month in the afternoon at 1:30-4:00. These courses will be run by Becky Walker of BBRT and supported by Katy Davies from Ceramic Rabbit. Becky has been making for as long as she can remember and currently sells mosaics and children’s clothes and accessories at Fabrication on Briggate. She loves to create and even though she sells broken glass and ceramics- she loves to paint pottery. Becky has been teaching for over 10 years and is excited to facilitate pottery painting sessions at the fantastic Fabrication Crafts! Katy is a talented ceramicist, and her craft has been passed down in her family for generations. She inherited her kiln from her grandmother, who was also a ceramicist, and Katy is excellent at hand building figurines. She is the behind-the-scenes expert on ceramics and will be helping glaze and fire the pieces you paint. This class will be held in Fabrication Leeds at 83 Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6LH (1) Facebook Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. Sunday 7th April 2024 : 13:30-16:30 £35 a head. Maximum 8 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful. Make your own miniature book. All the fun of bookbinding at a fraction of the size. This class will take your through the basics of making a miniature case binding, using book cloth and decorative paper. All materials will be provided but participants are very welcome to bring their own paper to incorporate into their bindings if suitable. Create your very own tiny tome. Tomes can have jump rings added if you would like to turn your tome into a book themed necklace or brooch. A short fun class aimed at beginners. This class will be held in Fabrication York at 19 Coney St, York YO1 9QL Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via three sets of fire doors. Seasonal Lino Printing

Seasonal LINO PRINT 11.30 – 14.30 Sunday 17^th November 2024 - Fabrication York. Lino print using seasonal botany as an inspiration: from designing and carving to inking and printing a lino block (A6 size) with Rachel Holborow of RK Wanderings printmaking - an experienced teacher, member of York Printmakers and York Open Studios artist. In this three hour workshop you will learn about the tools and materials of lino printmaking; designing and carving your own lino block - inspired by seasonal plant forms (you can bring an idea (A6 drawing, high contrast photo, or collage) of what you might like to print or materials will be provided ); then experiment with printing it using a range of colours, on paper or card. We will use water based inks, which are non-toxic and easy to clean up. There will be a maximum of 5 participants and you must be over 18 to take part. Be aware, you will use sharp tools at your own risk! (Safety tips will be covered at the beginning of the workshop and must be adhered to.) All materials for the workshop are included in the price, and you can take home the lino block you carve and your prints. Total cost for this 3 hour workshop is £38 which includes workshop materials, use of equipment and tuition + tea and biscuits. Please let me know allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.
