A multi-disciplinary exhibition which showcases Yorkshire.  From its colourful history to its beautiful coastline and anything in-between the exhibition celebrates Yorkshire based artists and how they choose to interpret this beautiful part of England.

Free Entry.  11.30 – 3.30 daily

To compliment this exhibition our studios will also be open to members of the public to see our range of artists at work including pastels, candle making and batik.

Our York exhibition space is situated on the first floor, accessibly via 2 flights of stairs, of the York Fabrication Retail space, 19 Coney St, York, YO1 9QL, within a 2 minute walk to buses and a 10 minute walk to car parks and to York Railway Station, surrounded by other independent shops, bars and restaurants and in the heart of York City Centre.

    Join Laura from L & S Crafts (2) Facebook at Fabrication York in York city centre, for a fun, informative workshop to learn how to make paper roses from your choice of book paper, sheet music or maps. The finished roses will then be mounted on wire stems and taped to give a neat finish.
    You will develop the skills to make further roses at home. Book paper flowers make lovely gifts, home decorations or even wedding bouquets. Perfect for weddings, first wedding anniversaries, or just to treat yourself!
    All equipment and materials will be provided, however if you have a favourite book or piece of music that you would like to incorporate, feel free to bring it along.
    Hot drinks will be available.
    Minimum age for participants is 18 years.

    Introduction to Gold Leaf

    Rob Oldfield is a gilder, typographer and educator, with nearly forty years experience working in museums and historic interiors. He recognizes the importance of crafts like gilding and he has a desire to pass on his knowledge so that it does not become yet another ‘forgotten art’ in an increasingly digital world. Gilding is a decorative technique for applying a very thin coating of metal to solid surfaces. The effect is beautiful and this is a rare opportunity to learn it yourself. Cost is £15 including all materials, equipment and tuition  along with tea, coffee, biscuits. Saturday 16th Dec 1.30 - 3.30 This class will be held in Fabrication York at 19 Coney St, York YO1 9QL Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via three sets of fire doors.

    Sustainable Fashion Workshop - Embroidery Has your favourite pair of jeans ripped? Do you want to learn how to patch up an item of clothing rather than buy new?s will teach you the embroidery skills needed. You just need to bring along your garment - patches, threads (refreshments?) and fun all supplied! Thanks to a grant from First Buses Fabrication Crafts on Coney Street have been running a number of free workshops showing participants how to upcycle, repair and enhance their clothing. Join us for a special York Fashion Week Event with Brenda from Felty and Fabulous The class is free but places are limited so must be booked in advance to take part Please note this event will beheld in our York Coney Street shop in the upstairs classroom space with no disabled access Weds 26th April 10.30-12.30

    Needle Felt a Seascape Sunday 7th July 2024 10.30-12.30 Want to learn how to ‘paint with wool’? Create a needle-felted picture in this fun and relaxing 2 hour workshop with Brenda Christison from Felty and Fabulous. You will learn 2D needle felting techniques and produce your very own picture felted onto a piece of vintage blanket. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from. Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.
